Extinguish that e-cigarette. Rip off that nicotine patch. Spit out the nicotine chewing gum. It turns out that magic mushrooms are the way to kick that deadly smoking habit.
After ingesting psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms, 12 out of 15 smokers in a trial at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore were cigarette-free six months later, Bloomberg's Michelle Fay Cortez reports today. Hallucinogenics are twice as effective as other anti-smoking remedies, based on the study results published in the Journal of Psychopharmacology.
